Client #512

Project Number 1

Test Objective:

To find an alternative to the current solvent Safety Kleen 105 in removing two types of glue adhesives from stainless steel and aluminum parts utilizing unheated immersion, as well as to clean spilled adhesive from the floor surrounding the immersion area.

Product Use:

stainless steel baskets, stainless steel parts
Trial Number Date Run Purpose Success Rating
0 02/09/2024 To test the efficacy of four previously identified solvents in removing two types of glue adhesives from stainless steel coupons using unheated immersion methods. Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined.
1 02/06/2023 To test the efficacy of a solvent in removing two types of glue adhesives from stainless steel coupons using unheated immersion methods. Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined.
2 09/20/2023 To test the efficacy of a solvent in removing two types of glue adhesives from stainless steel coupons using unheated immersion methods. Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined.
3 09/07/2023 To test the efficacy two solvents in removing two types of glue adhesives from stainless steel coupons using unheated immersion methods. Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined.
4 09/05/2023 To test the efficacy of solvent blends in removing two types of glue adhesives from stainless steel coupons using unheated immersion methods. Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined.
5 02/07/2024 Determine a safer alternative for cleaning applications to remove two types of glue adhesives using Hansen Solubility Parameters in Practice (HSPiP). Preliminary compatibility tests on substrate coupons encouraging for at least one cleaning chemistry. More in-depth laboratory testing necessary.
6 02/09/2024 Evaluating the effectiveness of alternative cleaners identified from prior Hansen Solubility Parameters Test Results successful using TACT (time, agitation, concentration, and temperature, as well as rinsing and drying) and/or other cleaning chemistries examined.
